Randy and Candice Uhl Dear Birthmother Open Adoption Letter

Hello!

We are very excited you are reading our letter! We are Randy & Candice Uhl from Alpharetta, Georgia, a suburb outside of Atlanta.

We admire your choice of open adoption and are ecstatic over a child entering our lives. We have decided to adopt because we want to experience the joy of raising a child and are unable to have children ourselves.

We have a lot of love and affection to offer a child. Both of us have been surrounded by children since we were young and agree the most important thing we can give to a child is love, direction and self-esteem.

My wife, Candice…

Candice is my best friend from the truest sense of the words. I love her more than I could ever love anyone else. Candice is warm, caring and one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met. She will love, guide and instill confidence in our child, which in my opinion is the best of all characteristics. Candice, I know, will make a great mom. She will be the mom to all the other youngsters in the neighborhood! She is more like a ‘big’ kid, so you can always find her at gatherings taking time to play with the children.

My husband, Randy…

Randy is my best friend. We have been together for more than 18 years. We have shared a great deal over the years. I love him very much! I know he will be a great dad. He loves to be with our nephews and nieces, playing in the swimming pool or competing on the computer in Donkey Kong, and our nephew Nick always wins. Besides being a good teacher for our child, Randy is a loving and genuine person. He is also smart, athletic, and a good friend. Randy is very knowledgeable in his field. We share the love of gardening, although I am more of his “free help”. Randy loves sports; he plays baseball, basketball, handball and golf.

Passing down a love of…

Candice enjoys running, gardening, all sports, and anything outdoors including home improvement projects. Randy enjoys music, movies, all sports and gardening. We both love to cook and our friends, family and coworkers love that we do too. Candice likes to can fruits and vegetables, Randy is a big help and our friends love the homemade gifts. We both love animals and we’re sure our child will love dogs as much as we do.

Another project we just finished is overseeing and doing some of the work ourselves on a log cabin that is in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains. Our cabin is only 45 minutes from our home, so we can spend lots of time there with our child fishing, hiking, picnicking and bike riding. Just thinking about helping to reel in our child’s first catch or learning to ride a bicycle is so EXCITING!

We can’t wait to share our love of nature and gardening with our child…

Now…

We have lived in our community for about 2 years and enjoy the subdivision’s pool and tennis courts. The neighborhood is filled with lots of kids of all ages and our neighbors are eager for us to adopt! Along with some of the best-rated schools, our community is family focused. It has a lot of activities for the kids such as picnics, an Easter egg hunt, a Food Fest, charity events, art festivals and swimming lessons for the youngsters. The church we attend also has many functions geared towards children. We look forward to all these outings and more with our child!

Work…

Randy is a technical consultant for a seed and plant brokerage company. He works from home full-time while traveling some. Candice is a sales director for a marketing division of a large company. Both of our offices have been very excited and supportive of our addition to our family!

We both will have the ability to work from home part-time and look forward to spending lots of time together with our child. We both enjoy our work and believe that our child will benefit from all our experiences!

A little about us…

We met in high school and our first date was the prom. Being around each other was very comfortable from that first date and we have been together since.

We both grew up in metro Detroit, Michigan. Randy attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in horticulture. Candice attended Eastern Michigan University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and went back to complete a Masters of Business Administration. We had an opportunity to move to Georgia a couple of years ago, and we took it. We now live close to Randy’s sister, brother-in-law and two nieces. As a family we have enjoyed attending Atlanta Braves baseball games, vacations and dance recitals together. All of our family and friends are very excited about adding on to the gang. We are all looking forward to embracing you and your child into our hearts and lives!

We have tons of love to share with a child! We would love to get to know you better and have you learn more about us.
