We and Russ and Grace Smith! HELLO and thank you for taking the time to read our letter! Lots of time and thought have gone into writing this letter as we search the words to describe the great joy and hope we have in becoming parents. As soon to be parents, we are looking forward to getting involved in the educational, spiritual, and social development of our child. We believe in nurturing and teaching our child to be an honest, responsible and caring person who respects others and has strong family values. Throughout his or her life we will always guide, support and encourage our child to follow passions, believe in dreams and aim high to achieve goals. As the days draw near our excitement grows in hopes of providing a baby with a home filled with love, joy and life of happiness. Words alone may not give you a clear picture of our long and lasting love, but please sit back a moment as we let you into our family and share what we have to offer a baby. You must be a loving and courageous person to consider open adoption. We are excited to meet you and ready to begin a life full of unforgettable memories and good times. OUR LIVES TOGETHER... We are Russell and Grace Smith. Fifteen years ago our paths crossed and we have been inseparable ever since. We take pride in our relationship, truly value each other’s uniqueness and are ready to share our happiness with a new addition to our family. We are fortunate to have a strong stable marriage and loving home. Our family ties are strong and we are dedicated to providing a life filled with opportunities, adventures and lots of love. We look forward to raising a child and sharing those unforgettable memories such as the first day at school, our baby’s first steps and all those exciting milestones. Parenting a child together has always been a dream of ours. OUR HOME... We own our home in the very beautiful small city of San Dimas. The school district is rated as one of the best in Southern California. San Dimas has numerous social events and is known for the rodeos they have every year. We have a dog-named Spike who the kids love to play with. He is very gentle and has been with us for about 10 years. He is definitely an important member of our family. Our neighborhood is a quite one, yet there are many neighborhood kids who often come over when we have family parties. They love the pool and enjoy playing on the swing-set for hours. RUSS... ...is one of the most caring, sensitive and fun-loving people I know. His hard work and dedication to his family are unsurpassed. His career as a professional contractor and driver for the U.S. government allows him plenty of quality time with his family. He loves children and has spent many nights setting up camp in the backyard for his nieces and nephews. He enjoys swimming, being the BBQ chef at family functions and many outdoor activities. Not to mention he is Mr. Fix-it and a jack-of –all-trades! Russ is looking forward to spending time with our child, teaching him or her how to ride a bike or spending afternoons at the park. GRACE... ...was born to be a mother. I often admire her strengths and courage as she always strived to become the best that she can be. She obtained her degree in business while raising her two children. She continues to further her education in hopes of starting her own business while being a stay -at-home mom. She is caring, patient and thoughtful person who has raised two children to be successful and loving people. Grace is so excited in becoming a new mom again. She can hardly wait for the day to arrive when she can read bedtime stories and cuddle with our new baby. She spends lots of time with her family and is the family chauffer; she definitely takes pride in being an excellent role model in our family. She has a heart of gold and makes all those near her feel comfortable, warm and safe. Last but not least, Grace is the best cook I know! She dreams of the day when she can spend time with our child baking cookies, playing dress-upon Halloween, going for long nature walks around the neighborhood and collecting sea shells along the beach. OUR FAMILY... We have both been blessed with a large family full of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Our family is excited and supportive of our decision to extend our family through adoption. There are many children in our family and we enjoy spending as much quality time together as possible. We usually have BBQ’S and go on family vacations to Yosemite or Lake Tahoe together. We treasure our time with the kids and especially enjoy playing dice, pillow fights, reading bedtime stories, backyard camping, swimming and going to the park. We love staying active with our family and believe in raising our child with strong Christian morals. We are extremely blessed to have the love and support of our family and friends.
