Our Story We met through mutual college friends and quickly realized we were a ‘match made in heaven’. Dan became Michelle’s math tutor and soon we were inseparable. Ten years later we were married in a small ceremony on Treasure Island in San Francisco, and after almost four years of marriage we are still inseparable and committed to raising a family together. We now live in sunny San Jose, California and we can’t wait to fill our home with memories of all of our child’s special firsts! Our Lutheran background gives us a solid system of faith, hope and love. These common values and beliefs connected us from the very beginning and will create a strong foundation for our child. We also have a large, supportive cast of family and friends who encourage and entertain us daily. Our parents are blessed with four grandchildren and they can’t wait to love and spoil another one. Michelle… …grew up in rural northeast California with her little sister and their beloved farm animals, including horses, steers, pigs, sheep, dogs and cats. She loves caring for animals, trying new restaurants and going to the movies. Her career as a property manager is challenging yet gives her plenty of quality time for family. She can’t wait to take long walks pushing a baby stroller and looks forward to reading her favorite childhood books to our little one! Dan on Michelle: Love at first sight! I’ve loved Michelle since I first laid eyes on her and that big, friendly smile of hers. She is bright, sweet, caring, and has a great sense of humor. Her energy is contagious and her sincerity is genuine. She will be a fabulous mother who will give our child all the love, encouragement and support he or she needs. Dan… …grew up in California’s central valley with his sister and three brothers. He was adopted by his stepmother at a very early age and experienced a closed adoption firsthand. Knowing the confusion that secrecy can cause, Dan is an advocate for open adoption and will make sure our child knows his or her adoption story and always feels comfortable asking questions. Dan works as a systems analyst in downtown San Jose, just 15 minutes from home. When he’s not working he loves spending time outdoors fishing, hiking and gardening. He can’t wait to strap on the baby backpack and take our little one on some of his favorite hikes! Michelle on Dan: I adore Dan – he’s my knight in shining armor. He is a big-hearted, smart and funny person. He has an incredible amount of patience and children naturally gravitate toward him. He will be a wonderful teacher and role model for our child. I can’t wait to see Dan sharing his love of baseball and the outdoors with our little one!
