Rob and Tressa Dear Birthmother Open Adoption Letter
We are Rob and Tressa from Lima, Ohio!

We have a special place for you in our hearts! We are unable to have a biological child, so we have chosen open adoption as a way to share our love and home with a child. We understand that it must be a hard decision on your part, but we believe open adoption makes it a positive option for all.

We met in 1998 but did not begin dating until 2001 and married in November 2002. We are very best friends and thank God for each other. We love our roles as Aunt and Uncle to our nephews and our four god children, and we are ready to be Mommy and Daddy!

We both want to give our child the kind of patient, understanding upbringing we were fortunate enough to have. We look forward to taking part in activities like rocking our baby to sleep, pushing the stroller on long walks, reading stories, and teaching all of the "firsts" to our child.

We also look forward to the days when we can share our favorite pastimes with our child such as visiting the zoo and museums, family vacations, and other outdoor activities. We are excited about the joys and challenges that parenting has to offer, and promise to never take our child for granted.

Tressa, in the eyes of Rob

Tressa will be a fun mom. She can sing all the kids songs and makes up goofy little songs to make you smile and laugh or feel better when you are sad. She is extremely friend and family oriented and has the ability to make people feel special.

She combines creativity and organization to make our house a warm, cozy, and comfortable home. Our relationship is based on respect, communication, honesty, and love. Tressa is my soul mate and I love her very much!

Rob, in the eyes of Tressa

Rob is a true kid at heart. His outgoing personality is what draws others to him. He values family, loyalty and hard work. Rob loves all sports and is devoted to the Cincinnati Reds, Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns.

It warms my heart when I see him holding our friends newborn baby or playing with our nephew. I know in my heart Rob will be a wonderful daddy.

Work, Family & Home

Like many families today, we both work, in order to live a comfortable lifestyle and to provide for the future of our family. Rob is a State Trooper and Tressa is a Drivers License Examiner for The Ohio State Highway Patrol. Our families live nearby and both Grandma's are excited to spend special Grandma time with our baby while we work.

We share a very large extended family and see them often. Most of us attend the same church and we proudly take up the whole pew. We enjoy vacationing on cruise ships to the Caribbean Islands and intend to continue traveling and sharing these adventures with our little one. (Rob loves History and is excited to teach our child about their Freedom through visiting Pearl Harbor.)

We are very active within our church. Tressa works with the children's ministries as a leader in the children's programs and participates in the music productions as well. Rob too, has a love for music and on occasion plays drums both for church and at work for the Ohio State Patrol Drum and Bugle Corps.

We have a three bedroom ranch with a partially finished basement that is ready to be filled with lots of toys! Our home sits on a half acre with a fenced in back yard that is big enough for Grandpa Bill and Rob to build a swing set like the one Grandpa built for Tressa when she was small.

Around our community there is a park to play, a reservoir to walk around, and a bike path that we like to bicycle on during the nice weather. We also belong to the local YMCA and enjoy going to work-out and swim.

We have three dogs Maggie, Bolt, and Snuggles that just love children to play ball, and toss frisbees with for as long as you are willing. The dogs enjoy it when we take them to the reservoir for walks; and we have found the special stroller that we want so that we can continue this special family time once the baby arrives.
