We are so happy and honored that you are taking the time to read our letter.
Hi! We’re Jim, Lisa and Rachel Davis,
from San Ramon, California.

As you consider a family for your baby, it’s important that you find a special kind of connection with a family that provides you a feeling of peace and assurance. Perhaps we might be that family!
Why Adoption? We have been married for nearly eight years. Our deep desire is to share the love, happiness, stability and adventure of our life with children. Infertility has solidified our desire... we really want to be parents.
Building our family with the honesty and integrity of open adoption feels so right! And we know it is from our own experience. We had the awesome privilege of becoming parents to our daughter Rachel, through a loving and open adoption, two and a half years ago. We are ready and waiting to welcome a new child into our family. We both benefited from having siblings, and we believe "kids need kids" to grow up as well-rounded, thoughtful human beings. There is a great tenderness in the experience of being an adoptive parent that surpasses one’s fondest dreams for a biological family.
About Lisa (by Jim)![]()
Mom’s just don’t come any better! Lisa is a full time stay-at-home mom, who gives completely of herself to make every day wonderful for Rachel and our family. She shares her love of baking and cooking with Rachel. She loves to gather the family for a special meal. Our home is a place to come to for affection, comfort, and peace because of Lisa. I can hardly wait until she and Rachel are able to share their time and daily adventures with a new baby!

About Jim (by Lisa)Jim is a thoughtful, wonderful father to Rachel and to his two grown sons: Matt (23) and Jim (26). The boys still look to him for wise counsel as they make their way in the world as young adults. Jim balances his career as an administrator in a local community hospital with our family life, vacations, holidays and time at home. Family always comes first! In addition to his great sense of humor, Jim possesses a remarkable quality… being with him makes us feel protected and cared for.
About Rachel
She is so excited about being a big sister! She adores her big brothers, and they adore her as well. Rachel has the sweetest personality and a smile that lights up the room.
She loves visits with Grandma. Every child should have a grandma like this, to love and spoil them! We talk to Rachel all the time about her birthmother. We have really enjoyed the opportunity to have an on-going relationship with Trina. It is our wish that Rachel and our next child know how loved they are by all of the people in their family circle.
Our Home & CommunityOur home is about 35 miles east of San Francisco and has lots of room for toys, games, and friends. The true foundation of our home is not wood and bricks, but our strong values and close family bonds.
We enjoy exploring the natural beauty of this area, as well as all of the family-oriented activities in our community and beyond. Our neighborhood is filled with growing families, the schools are excellent because parental participation is encouraged and welcome, and parks are just a short walk around the corner!
Our "ordinary" days

Weekends - Family time
- Helping our children discover the world around them
- Playing dress-up with crowns and beads…and more tea parties!
- Helping Mommy in the kitchen pouring, stirring, holding cups
- Kindermusik, Playgroup, preschool, and special outings
- Craft projects, with lots of glitter and construction paper!
- Play dates at our house include puzzles, a doll house and dollies
- Dinner together as a family every night
- Reading lots of books with Rachel - sometimes even before breakfast!
- Painting cookies with colored frosting... there’s a spot at the decorating table waiting for our next cookie artist!
Weekends are always fun and frequently bustling with activity… family members drop by and join us on a trip to a local park or museum. We are close friends with several families in our area, and we take turns hosting get-togethers for kids and adults to laugh and play! Our family and close friends are thrilled that we’re adopting another baby to share our wonderful family times together.
The Special Days
We’ve established many family traditions that are enjoyed throughout the year. Our photo albums capture all the love and fun!
